Certified Flight Instructor

A Certified Flight Instructor rating is required in order to teach students, and many pilots start their helicopter flying careers as flight instructors.
 
FAA Requirements
  • Applicant must hold a Commercial Pilot/Helicopter license and a Second Class medical certificate
  • Pass two FAA written examinations
  • Obtain sufficient dual instruction for proficiency.
  • Pass an FAA oral and flight proficiency examination (check-ride)

Ground Instruction 20 hours @ $40/hr $800

*Flight hours are determined by minimums set forth by FAA regulations. Actual hours flown will depend on student's proficiency.
